The Calgary Police Service will be hosting two Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) courses in May 2007. The first course, Level 2, will be held May 22-25, 2007, and the second course, Level 1, will be held May 28-31, 2007. Both courses will be instructed by Constable Tom McKay, Peel Regional Police Officer and Chair of CPTED Ontario.
These courses focus on reducing criminal opportunities by modifying the physical environment. Students will expand their perception of the physical environment and its direct relationship to human behavior and crime.
The courses will be held in Calgary at the Rosebud Room, McDougall Centre, Southern Alberta Office of the Premier, 455 – 6 Street SW, from 08:30 to 16:30 hours each day.
Refreshments and a course binder are included in the $600 registration cost. Registration deadline is April 30, 2007.

Workplace Connecting the Dots: Information Sharing to Prevent Violence
Coming into force on June 15, 2010, Bill 168 requires every employer in Ontario with more than five workers to develop a violence risk assessment and implementing a policy and program to prevent and manage workplace violence and harassment.
