Agency voids call centre deal – Ministry of Labour cites violence at troubled Sutherland Global

The Unemployed Help Centre has terminated its contract with Sutherland Global Services.

The call centre computer support company has come under fire from employees alleging poor working conditions.

“We have notified Sutherland we have deemed all contracts null and void,” said Pamela Pons, executive director for the non-profit organization.

“We had grave concerns about information we found and had supervisors attend the site.

“They confirmed allegations we had received.”

The Star has learned four workplace orders were issued Wednesday by Ontario’s Ministry of Labour pertaining to workplace violence.
