UGA video to show how to react to gunman on campus

from Ledger-Enquirer.com

University of Georgia security officials are filming a video to train students on what to do if a gunman is loose on campus.

Steve Harris, head of UGA’s Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness, says the 15-minute video featuring UGA students and faculty will eventually be distributed to schools and colleges across Georgia. Production is expected to be complete in February.

The video demonstrates to students, faculty and staff how to react in different scenarios, including barricaded in a classroom and face-to-face with a gunman. Harris says the video will be posted on the UGA Web site and used during freshman orientation and other student gatherings.

It was produced with a $20,000 grant from the state.
