Workplace Violence Prevention: Practical Skills (1/2 day)
This half-day course is designed to provide staff with skills and confidence to effectively deal with situations of potential workplace violence and conflict with clients, patrons, and public.
Preventing a tense situation from escalating requires not only the ability to recognize the warning signs, but also the skills to plan and respond effectively. This workshop covers the essential elements of assessing and dealing with potentially violent situations in the workplace.

Managing Internal Conflict – co-worker conflict (1/2 day)
This half-day course is designed to provide staff with the motivation, assertiveness and skills to deal with workplace conflict, bullying, personal harassment, and violence involving co-workers.
ARETE training sets the stage and context for a positive shift in how individuals view and respond to workplace conflict. This is achieved through presenting a no-nonsense, straight forward approach for employees to speak up using ‘everyday communication’. Personal Safety and Corporate Security (1.5 – 2 hours)
This 2 hour course is designed to provide your staff with the much needed confidence and motivation to assume a greater level of responsibility for their safety. Participants learn essential skills and strategies for safe responses to threatening situations at work and outside of work.
Despite some of the most advanced security equipment, technology and security guards, security breaches still occur, and suspicious activities go unnoticed or simply unreported.
This is often due to employee’s lack of awareness, motivation to be involved, and fear of embarrassment along with a perceived potential for conflict.
Through this workshop, employees realize that by recognizing the possibilities and having realistic plans, they can enhance their personal safety. They can in turn increase the safety of fellow employees while reducing personal fears and anxiety.

Train the Trainer (3 – 5 days)
This intensive multi day course is designed to prepare selected trainer candidates to deliver effective violence prevention training to their organization, utilizing the ARETE program. Like the training materials, the workshop is customized for the audience and workplace in which it is presented.
Trainer candidates will learn how the program works, including the unique classroom dynamics involved with an interactive program addressing violence prevention. This provides an important contextual foundation that is necessary to effectively deliver violence prevention training to staff. Following successful completion of the program, participants will be certified by ARETE to present this curriculum within their organization.
